Spiritual Walking Tour-13Nights / 14Days

Day 1: Paro – Thimphu(1hr) Re-Group with your Bhutanese and driver and keep on driving to Thimphu. Acclimatize yourself by taking an easy hike from Sangye Gang view-point to Wangditse and back.

Day 2: Thimphu – Tango / Chari buddhist Monasteries. Early morning to Tango and afternoon to Chari. Evening visit Tashi Chhoedzong, an administration and monk’s resident.

Day 3: Thimphu – Punakha(3hrs)Drive to Dochu La, Park your car and walk along with your guide to the Temple of Lungchutse (3500m and above), the reason why you find very less monk at the monastery is merely because of place being very isolated. Lunch at Dochula Cafeteria owned by generous young embroiders of the country. Later visit Rinchen Gang, the Stone-masons village.

Overnight at Dragon Nest

Day 4: Punakha – Bumthang(6-7hrs) Lunch at Tshendebji. En-route visit the Trongsa National Museum, stretch your legs outside the Yathra Weaving centre at Zhungney.

Overnight at Mt. Lodge, Ugyenling or Similar

Day 5:Bumthang(Halt) After visiting 8th century old Jambey Lhakang, begin your walk through unpaved roads until you reach Kurjey Lhakang, continue walking across the suspension bridge to Tamshing Goemba. After lunch visit the Castle of the White Bird and Wangdichhoeling Palace. Stroll around a typical Bhutanese town called Bazzar.

Overnight at Mt. Lodge

Day 6: Jakar- Tang Ogyencholing. Tour Tang valley with a small picnic lunch for the day. After reaching Tang, Hike to Ogyencholing Palace. Later visit ” Ta-Rimochen”, Pema Tekchok Chholing Nunnery and the “Burning Lake” or Mebartsho.

Overnight at Mt. Lodge

Day 7: Jakar – Trongsa(2hrs30min) Check in the hotel. Visit the Dzong and seek the two hour long adventurous hike through the ancient trade route, pass a cantilever bridge above Mangdi Chhu and hike uphill to the view-point.

Overnight at Yangkhil Resort.

Day 8: Trongsa – Phobjikha (4-5hrs)

Visit the Gantey Monastery first and start hiking around the roosting wet-lands of the endangered Black-Necked Crane who visits the valley during winter.

Overnight at Dewachen

Day 9: Phobjikha – Punakha(2-3hrs) Visit the Crane Information centre and drive back to Punakha. After lunch take a walk up the No-Dog Temple, the only temple believed to have been built on a hill that looks like women’s breast. Later visit “Palace of Great Happiness”.

Overnight at Punatshangchhu

Day 10: Punakha – Paro(3-4hrs) Morning hike to Khamsum Yuelley and the temple of the DevineMadman. Afternoon retrace your way back to Paro.

Overnight at Khangkhu Resort

Day 11 : Drive to Cheli La Pass(3800m) Highest motorable road in the Country. Walk up the Pass through arrays of multi-coloured Prayer flags, visit Kila Nunnery and descend down the main highway. After lunch visit Dzondrakha and the Ringpung Dzong.

Overnight at Paro

Day 12: Begin a long trek of 4-5hrs to The “Tiger’s Nest, Zangtopelri, and Ugyen Tsemo

Day 13: If you may, you can always find a steep trail down the valley for about an hour. Afternoon visit National Museum, Drugyal dzong and Kyichu Lhakang.

Overnight at Tashi Namgay, Khangku Resort or Similar.

Day 14: Drive back to the Air-port.
