Day 2: Hike to Taktshang, afternoon visit drive to Thimphu.

Day 3:Thimphu(Halt) Visit the 13’Arts and Craft school at kawajangsa and below the school, you’ll find Sangay’s handicraft store where-in during the weekends and govt. holidays these students take their finished products to be sold at the store and aim to make some money to be self-reliable, After lunch drive 20-30mins north of the city to Begana, visiting one of the few privately owned arts and craft school. The Royal Textile Museum, Chagzamtok weaving center and check out Lungta Handicraft store souvenirs.

Day 4: Thimphu – Punakha(3hrs) Afterbreakfast,The National Handicraft Emporium and Folk Heritage Museum. En-route stopover to Dochula cafeteria not for food but this restaurant has some rare collections of color-full religious artifacts showcasing Bhutanese textile at a glance.

However, the owner of the restaurant used to be a embroider before jumping into the tourism. His passion for the textile art is clearly revealed by his produce. Drive further down to much warmer Punakha at an elevation of 1500m. Visit the Palace of the Happiness.

Day 5: Punakha – Trongsa(4-5hrs) After passing Peli La and Rukubji, don’t be surprised to see the farmers placing fresh-cut bamboos over the roads so that the truck will run on them leaving the bamboo ready to be weaved. Visit the nettle-weaving center in Beling, Langthel. The watch-tower showcasing some of the Royals finest fabrics and textile held in the museum for preservation. Trongsa Dzong(optional)

Day 6:Trongsa – Bumthang(2-3hrs) Two kilometres after Gaytsa is the summer capital of the second king, Domkhar Trashicholing dzong. Although we’ won’t be able to visit inside but one can always appreciate the wood carvings and outstanding work of art prevailing even today are the designs all over the Palace. Stopover at Chhumey valley and visit a family owned Yathra(yak-hair) weaving center.

Day 7:Exploring the cultural heart-land. begin the day by visiting Jambay lhakang, Kurjey. Across the bridge Tamshing and visit the village the community weaving centre

Day 8:Bumthang – Mongar(7-8hrs)

Day 9 :Mongar – Lhuentse (5-6hrs)Day excursion to Khoma village, Besides the perpetual royal anecdotes and the idiosyncratic ethnicity of the region, Lhuentse is well-known for the Han-woven as the KIshuthara, keeping intact one of the most distinctive art forms of the country. The weavers, especially from Khoma and Kurtoe geog are famous for their skills and experience in weaving the intricate designs.

Day 10: Mongar – Trashigang(3-4hrs) The Khaling Handloom Center and Phongmey weaving center depending on the availability of time. These weavers at the center are well trained and are now being employed by the Govt. lie under the special care of Her Majesty Ashi Sangye Choden Wangchuck. ‘Bura’ known as distant fabric of the region. The district is often visited by the Semi-nomadic tribes which provide us with an opportunity to see more of these unique textiles.
