Punakha Tshechu-9Days / 8Nights

Day 1: Paro – Punakha(4hrs) If you may, you can always take a short 30min walk up-to Chimi Lhakang. Or else visit Khuruthang temple.

Day 2: Full day Festival.

Day 3: Half day at the Festival and Drive north of Punakha to Khamsum Yuelley Namgyal or visit the most scenic Nunnery at walakha.

Day 4: Punakha – Phobjikha valley(2-3hrs) On your return from “The Gantey Monastery”, please take an hour walk around the Black-Necked Crane roosting wet-lands or visit the nearby the Crane information centre.

Day 4: Phojikha – Thimphu (4-5hrs) En-route stopover at Dochula Pass, after lunch walk through the sub-tropical rain forest to Lungchu Tse Temple for about 4hrs. You can either return back the same route or descend down via Hongtsho Trashigang. Evening visit Tashichhoe dzong to witness the Flag removal ceremony.

Day 5:Thimphu Valley Tour – Full day sightseeing includes- National Memorial stupa, Takin Preservation centre, Zilukha Nunnery, Traditional arts and craft school, Jungshing- Handmade paper factory and giant Buddha Doderma statue.

Day 6: Thimphu – Paro(1hr) En-route stopover Wangsimu and walk down the valley through rice paadies to Khandro Sonam Pelden’s Residence, which is believed to be eight hundred years old. Afternoon, visit National Museum and begin a short down to Ringpung Dzong and across the cantilever bridge and then to the town.

Day 7: Hike up-to Paro Taktshang and after lunch trek beyond Zangto Pel-ri and Ugen Tsemo for more than 4-5hrs.

Day 8: Descend down via steep ancient trails and down to the valley. Afternoon, visit Drugyal dzong, Kyichu Lhakang and Tshenden Incense factory

Day 9: Depart Via Druk-Air to your next destinations
